GOLDEN EAGLE

All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts.....

Come to the edge, he said,
They said: We are afraid.
Come to the edge, he said.
They came.
He pushed them......
......and they flew.

BREEDING COLOURS

GOSLING

MY BLESSINGS

Counting your blessings is good for the soul
It’s ever so easy if you try, don’t you know.
You start with the smallest things in your life
And soon, ‘fore you know, it will banish all strife.

To wake in the morning feeling safe, warm and cozy
Served breakfast in bed - a treat from my hubby.
White blossom of plum trees as I look out from my bed
While I sit here surrounded by books to be read.

The song of the robin as he makes his demand
For cheese for his babies - which he takes from my hand.
Blackbirds and sparrows and starlings draw near
And into our kitchen will venture - no fear.

Delight at the crystals that hang in my window
While they shimmer and sparkle and shower me with rainbows.
The peace that descends when I sit on the swing
Watching clouds drifting by as the birds sweetly sing.

Days out with Derrick and Mum in the car
Stopping for lunch in towns, near and far
Acres of daffodils we glimpse through the trees
And bluebells that carpet the Forest of Dean.

Phone calls and letters and emails that come
From friends far and wide sharing laughter and love.
Holidays spent in some magical places
Bringing souvenirs home in bulging suitcases.

Trips up to Hopeman to stay by the sea
Searching rock pools each day for “Caffie Mouies”
Watching the dolphins while they frolick and play,
Being lulled off to sleep by the pounding of waves.

Painting and drawing and writing for fun
Fulfilling a need that just has to be done.
A real love of colour that I have to express
Creating art just for me - though to some just a mess!

Watching Oprah and Ally McBeal on TV
Or curled up by the fire with a book on my knee
Some Tia Maria in my coffee with cream
A shiny new motorhome - oh well, I can dream...

Laughing with Mum at the silliest things
Memories of Dad pushing me high on the swings.
So grateful for a childhood shared with them both
Best gift you can dream of - a lifetime of love.

A sunset so perfect it just makes me sigh
As the colours and hues bring tears to my eyes.
The snowy white moon gazing down from on high,
Feeling awe at the beauty of stars in the sky.

A long soak in a bath filled with perfume and bubbles
And fluffy warm towels into which I can snuggle.
The pleasure of sinking into a newly made bed
A perfect end to a day, what more can be said?

My blessings in life could fill several pages
And to list every one would take simply ages.
To pause and take stock now and then is the test
Suffice it to say - I truly am blessed!

GREY OWL

This is our little Robin Redbreast just after he'd taken a bath.  He was sitting waiting patiently for his cheese!
