ENCAUSTIC ART

Over 2000 years ago the Ancient Greeks, Egyptians and Romans used wax as a painting medium and examples of the Fayum mummy portraits can still be seen in the British Museum. These days coloured lightfast beeswax is used together with an electric iron, hotplate and other heat tools to produce spectacular and individual images. Each piece of Encaustic Artwork is unique and can never be copied exactly. Be it a landscape or a fantasy world, the images evoke a response. From ancient art is born modern art and the overall effect is distinctive and completely original.

A6 size (approx 6 x 4 inches) £25 unmounted plus P&P
10 x 8 inch mountand backing board £6 - optional

A5 size (approx 8 x 6 inches) £35 unmounted plus P&P
12 x 10 inch mount and backing board £7 - optional

A4 size (approx 12 x 8 inches) £70 unmounted plus P&P
14 x 11 inch mount and backing board £8 - optional

A3 size (approx 16 x 12 inches) £135 unmounted plus P&P
20 x 16 inch mount and backing board £15 - optional

Commissions normally take about 4 – 6 weeks depending on my workload (possibly a little longer during the summer months) although your painting may be completed sooner for a special occasion if you let me know when ordering - but do please contact me to check first. Please note that I am only able to accept payment by PayPal in Sterling from overseas customers. I ask for a 50% deposit for commissions before commencing the work, please, with the balance payable upon completion.
